My Time With iHeartRadio

Working for Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and Z100 New York during the Summer of 2023 taught me more than I’ve ever learned. I was able to assist in writing artist interviews for Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, Reneé Rapp, MAX, and more. I was exposed to the behind-the-scenes of radio/media production and development, and was lucky enough to be involved in the process on the daily. My fellow interns and I were given the opportunity to start a podcast guiding future interns, called “The Duran Clan.” Not only was I having so much fun, but I grew and learned through the experience. I learned how to bring my personality into the industry as well as essential technical and entertainment skills that I will never forget. I am so infinitely grateful to the people at iHeartRadio, who welcomed me with open arms and didn’t hesitate or judge me when I had questions. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with the people I did. I was also given the opportunity to return for their 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden. I assisted with capturing content by managing Z100’s Instagram stories for the night, and I was able to craft stories of artist interviews and behind the scenes footage for thousands of listeners. Being able to capture Elvis Duran’s interviews with Cher, Olivia Rodrigo, Jared Leto, Andy Cohen, and many more talented individuals was inspiring and motivating. I was also given the opportunity to assist with Z100’s Maxwell and Crystal as they worked with Extra to interview celebrities like Pentatonix and Martha Stewart, where I learned the key skills of interviewing.  I had the time of my life while learning essential skills that will forever be applicable to my passion for the music industry!
